Egyptian Register Of Shipping known as E.R.S was founded as the first classification society in Egypt and Middle East, is based in Alexandria/Egypt with branch office in all Egyptian ports.

As an independent non-governmental Classification Society with an International Network of Marine Surveyours, E.R.S aims to provide the shipping communities with high quality Classification services withing the applicable conditions and in accordance with effective International Rules.

5) Statutory Work

Statutory work is carried out in compliance with the IMO’s conventions and as per national regulations of flag’s regulations having authorized in the E.R.S

The surveying and statutory certification activities include:

1. Int’l Convention on Load Line (LL)
2. Int’l Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS)
3. Int’l Convention for Prevention of Pollution From Ships (MARPOL)
4. Int’l Convention on Tonnage Measurements of Ships (TONNAGE)
5. Int’l Convention on the Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea (COLREG)

AUTHORIZATION and Ships Registration

E.R.S is duly authorized by the government of Tonga for the implementation of surveys and issuance of all statutory trading certificates.

E.R.S has established a mutual professional approach with the maritime adiminstration bereau of the D.P.R of Korea to class ships flying the flag of the D.P.R of Korea.

E.R.S has established a professional agreement with the Bulgarian of shipping(BRS), as BRS agent in Syria

E.R.S has achieved a full membership of the Classification Society of North America “CSNA” on July 2004

E.R.S main office surveyors are fully trained and accredited the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport.
